Boys multi-color striped beanie

So, my son was playing in his room quietly this afternoon making a 'snowflake' by folding paper and then cutting in in several spots. I was in my room watching tv. A few minutes into the snowflake making he prances into my room to show me his lovely snowflake which turned out rather nice; however, his haircut he decided to give himself did not. I blankly stared at his head and thought "oh my, well you have to live with it not me" although I do have too look at this butcher job. That minute I knew I had to make him a new hat, and this is what I came up with. He will be wearing this the rest of the weekend, or until I feel like cutting his hair.

Large Filet Square

This was a very fun  filet project to learn with. I plan on doing a few more of these in different note styles to sew into a large blanket.  Surprisingly I found filet rather simple and fun probably one of my favorite styles of crochet I have attempted thus far.

Another Cat Nip Mouse

This is a pink CatNip Stuffed Mouse. I really enjoy making these for our cats. They are super cute and get lots of attention. If anyone would like to purchase a set of 3, I will sell them for 10$ and you can pick the colors. Please contact me through E-Mail   to make a request.

Visor Beanie

This beanie is hand crocheted in a half double crochet, being the first project I followed a pattern too, and it came out rather well! I did however modify the bill slightly so that it would be a better shape than the pattern showed. I also reinforced the bill so that it would stay upright with a little bit of plastic to hold it's shape. Thank you Saul for modeling your lovely beanie in which you will not take off. "Yes, he loves it!"

Cat Nip Stuffed Mouse

I decided to make some cute cat toys for our cats. Currently we have three cats living in this house, so this first one I made for the oldest cat, chicory, he loves catnip. I simply stuffed this mouse with catnip in the middle and rolled white stuffing around it and pushed it inside. I plan on making a pink one for our girl cat who adores any toy that is either pink or red. It's funny, ever sense she was a kitten those are the only color toys she will play with. I thought cat's were color blind???  I was planning on making a blue one for Vinni my youngest cat who will play with anything and everything, but for him I wanted to put a bell inside along with the catnip because he loves bells!
I do have the pattern for this mouse, and I would love to share. Eventually, I want to start posting free patterns on my blog after it gets a little more established. However, if you would like this pattern now please let me know.

oh! Please excuse my photo's. I broke the flash on my camera while snowboarding (aren't snowboarding jackets supposed to be waterproof ?), so to get a good picture the lighting has to be right, and well it wasn't for the above pictures.

Pondering what my next project should be... hummmm   *any suggestions?*

Amigurumi Apple

So, last night I was getting kinda antsy about my sweater I have been working on. Needless to say it is taking a lot longer than expected to finish, and I had this ginormous need to finish something. I didn't care what it was as long as I made something and finished it. There is something about those small accomplishments that really make me feel good. Therefore I decided to try my hand at my first Amigurmi project, I choose an apple. Simple, yet elegant and I figured it would be a great gift for Cameron to give to his teacher.

If anyone is interested in the pattern for this apple, please let me know and I will post the pattern up on my blog for you.

1st Sweater Project

I wanted to post the progress on my first crochet sweater project. I super am excited to see how this turns out. I am using Lions Brand Yarn 100% acrylic in purple mist (303). I just started crocheting about 3 weeks ago this being the most complex project thus far.

The current picture is the bottom of the back of the sweater.

So far I have only completed two beret style women's hats for myself, and one skull cap beanie with a bill for my boyfriend. All those projects turned out amazing, so I am hoping this turns out just as amazing!!
